Missy Mazzoli’s work returns to the Witherspoon with These Worlds In Us, intense, emotional writing for chamber orchestra. Omaha Symphony Third Flute & Piccolo player, Lisa Meyerhofer, takes on Lowell Liebermann’s Concerto for Piccolo and Orchestra, highlighting the range of the orchestra’s smallest instrument. Kurt Weill’s Symphony No. 2 closes the program, a 20th century masterpiece written after his escape of Nazi Germany in 1933.
