Holland Center September 18 & September 19, 2020

Wilkins, Branford, & Copland

Maestro Wilkins opens the 100th Anniversary Season with good friends and an All-American barn-burner, including three living composers and saxophone virtuoso Branford Marsalis. Joan Tower and Aaron Copland bookend the program with electrifying fanfares for our brass and percussion sections, and Michael Daugherty’s new work celebrating Omaha and our Symphony promises to feature every member of the orchestra. Copland’s majestic and moving Symphony No. 3, which quotes his famed Fanfare for the Common Man, will close the first program of the Season.
