Program Info

  • ANTONÍN DVOŘÁK: Cello Concerto

  • EDWARD ELGAR: Symphony No. 1

In what could possibly be its first ever performance by the Omaha Symphony, Elgar’s lush Symphony No. 1 will show why it received immediate and phenomenal success after its premiere in 1908. Cellist Oliver Herbert, “a knockout” (San Francisco Classical Voice), completes this uber-romantic program with the most iconic work for cello in the repertoire – Dvořák’s Cello Concerto.

Special After Hours Performance Saturday

Oliver Herbert will present an intimate, one-of-a-kind solo cello performance in the lobby of the Holland Center immediately following Saturday’s concert. All are invited to join us in the Orchestra Level lobby for no additional cost!
