About the Position
The Omaha Symphony is seeking a highly qualified musician to play section Violin beginning in the 2025-2026 season. This is a per-service, tenure track position. The Omaha Symphony’s concert season is stylistically diverse, and equal emphasis is placed on public performances and education/engagement programs.
Compensation and Benefits
The 70-service position guarantees the per-service rate for the 2025-2026 season is $159.02, with an annual guaranteed compensation of $11,131.40. Benefits include paid sick leave, partially subsidized instrument insurance, and up to a 4% match on an employer-sponsored 403(b) retirement fund. Musicians living outside a 50-mile radius of the Omaha metro area will receive travel reimbursement.
* The Collective Barging Agreement is currently under negotiation, salary and benefits are subject to change.
Audition Process
This will be a standard, multi-round audition. All rounds will be live and all rounds will be held on Monday May 5th, 2025 in Omaha. If the position is filled by a current member of the orchestra, the runner-up may be offered the resulting vacancy.
